UAE Golden Journey
Fujairah's fort, the oldest mosque in the country, and the reef at Snoopy Island.
The east coast is the UAE's other face: mountains that come down to the sea, and a history older than the oil towns. The journey starts at Fujairah's Sheikh Zayed Mosque and the fort on its hill above the old town, then follows the coast north to Al Bidya, a small mud-brick mosque with four domes that is the oldest in the country still in use. It ends on the beach at Al Aqah, with time to swim or snorkel around Snoopy Island before the drive back.
