Old Dubai by the Creek, then the frame that shows how far it has come.
Dubai began on its Creek, and this tour starts there. You walk the lanes and wind towers of Al Fahidi, cross the water the way Dubai always has, on an abra for a dirham, and lose yourself in the spice and gold souks of Deira. Then the tour jumps a century to the Dubai Frame, a 150-metre picture frame with the old city on one side and the skyline on the other. It is the shortest way we know to understand the city.
