Sharjah's old fort, its museum of Islamic art, and the island of light on Khalid Lagoon.
Sharjah is the emirate that chose culture, and this tour is a half-day inside that choice. You start at Sharjah Fort in the restored Heart of Sharjah, then cross to the Museum of Islamic Civilization, whose golden dome covers astronomical instruments, manuscripts and ceramics from across the Islamic world. After a stop at Al Noor Mosque on the lagoon, you end on Al Noor Island, a garden of light installations and sculpture with a butterfly house at its centre. It is the gentlest tour in the catalogue, and one of the most beautiful.
